1. HUMOR U TIP #193 – Creepy Creatures at Work |
By Ann Fry No, I’m not talking about the staff… although there might be some creepy people that share your cubicles and walk your halls… yikes! I am talking about how to celebrate Halloween at work. (Oh, so that’s what she meant!) How do you celebrate Halloween at work? Do you ignore it? Do you come in costume? Do you have fun bowls full of candy on your desk? Do you have contests for the best-decorated cubes or offices? And, what are the prizes? Always make sure the prizes are fun and people are really motivated to participate. Not to fear… if you have FUN with Halloween it doesn’t mean that the work won’t get done. On the contrary, we all know that when people have fun at work they are MORE motivated to be there. Happy Haunting and Creepy Creature creating! Truth: People just want to work for GREAT companies and GREAT managers. They want workplace "CULTURES THAT WORK". Can you say... HAPPY AND PROFITABLE? 2. MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY AT WORK OPPORTUNITY |
Anything you can do to eliminate someone’s stress… that’s the ticket. Drop off yummy candy anonymously on their desks OR, if you know they’re dieting, drop off tasty, healthy alternatives. Maybe leave a tiny gourd or pumpkin… anything to acknowledge them. |
3. MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS |
Across the Universe: One of the best movies I’ve seen in some time. In fact, I saw it twice—once in London and then again with my son in NY. It’s a rock opera of the turbulent 60’s (for those of you who “might” remember the 60’s). It’s actually a rock opera with all Beatles music. It’s fun at times, painful at times, weird (as in psychodelic) at times, but has wonderful talent and messages. |
