1. HUMOR U TIP #192 – Internal Jogging |
By Ann Fry Did you know that when you laugh, all of your body gets a workout? It’s what we refer to as “internal jogging.” I always say, “heck, why bother going out in the heat and jogging when you can stay indoors, where it’s cool, and jog anyhow?” It’s true. When you laugh, every part of your body gets exercise. Think about how your body shakes, your mouth goes up and down, you bend over, you slap your knee, you guffaw, etc. It’s a pitiful looking thing… sometimes people look like they’re having a seizure, when in actuality, they’re just jogging&emdash;well, laughing, that is. Try this. Sit at your desk, with your door barely open (or if you’re in a cube, face away from the opening). Start to giggle, then work your way up to laughter, then full out guffawing... with tears even. See what happens. People will come running in to see what’s going on. Then, they’ll see you and they’ll start laughing with you and not even know why. It’s just an experiment, but you’ll get it immediately. You will all have had your workout. Period. Happy jogging! 2. MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY AT WORK OPPORTUNITY |
Anything you can do to eliminate someone’s stress… that’s the ticket. So, how about dropping off a little wind-up toy or a koosh ball on your neighbor’s desk? When they play with it, they will immediately laugh and feel their stress melt away. Any toy will do… but these are really great. |
