1. HUMOR U TIP #190 – The Art of Play |
By Ann Fry Life is not about how hard you work, the fortunes you make, or the toys you amass—it’s about what’s important and purposeful in your life. It’s about how much fun you’re having every day of your life. FUN / PLAY is about being in the FLOW of the moment. You can’t pretend to play, you can’t even really plan it. You have to do it—mindfully. You have to check your ego and concerns at the door. You need to face any trepidation you have. You have to be in the experience of play. You can’t be thinking of what else needs to be done or anything else. You have to be totally in the moment—doing it, mindfully. If you feel like jumping, you have to jump. If you feel like laughing, just do it, etc. Ask yourself: why does work have to be hard, demanding and serious? Why can’t it be joyful? The answer? Work can be joyful, but first you must be. So, what are some ways that you will make work joyful? If you have “special” ideas, please email them to me at ann@annfry.com. I’ll share your ideas on the humoru.com website for all to read. Happy joy-seeking at work! Truth: People just want to work for GREAT companies and GREAT managers. They want workplace "CULTURES THAT WORK". Can you say... HAPPY AND PROFITABLE? 2. MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY AT WORK OPPORTUNITY |
Bring in ice cream for everyone at the desks and offices surrounding you—they’ll want to be cool. If ice cream melts too quickly, bring in large-sized iced teas for all. Along with the food, bring in pictures of people snowskiing or snowboarding—it’ll help with the “cool off” we all need about now. Happy being cool! |
3. MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS |
Most movies these days are pretty intense, but there are a few that are noteworthy (however, might be offensive to some—so read about them first):
