1. HUMOR U TIP #181 – Spring Has Flung!

By Ann Fry

Spring is here … with rain, radical weather shifts AND leaves showing up on the trees… And some cherry blossoms. It’s beautiful. Most important—it’s about NEW GROWTH.

How do you want to grow the FUN Factor at your workplace? Do you want to start wearing fun hats in the hallway? Do you want to start skipping through the halls? Do you want to put budding ficus plants in the lobby (maybe decorated with ornaments)? Do you want to have sprouts and carrots in the breakroom (this would diminish growth … in the waist area.)

Do you want to gift your co-workers with new toys for their desks and grow their morale and loyalty to the company? Be thinking about renewal, growth, asking, “How can I spring my company to a new level of FUN?”

Happy Spring!

Truth: People just want to work for GREAT companies and GREAT managers. They want workplace "CULTURES THAT WORK". Can you say... PROFIT?

2. MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY AT WORK OPPORTUNITY

Let it be anonymous. Just drop off a new little toy AND some chocolate on their desk. Peek at their reaction when they find it.

3. MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS

Because humor, laughter and FUN are our game, we LOVE movies as a source for those feelings. So, whenever we see a movie that we think is really fun or silly or otherwise worthy of recommendation, we'll cover it here. Movies, by the way, are great "therapy"—a great way to get away from stress and the busy world.

  • Failure to Launch – Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker in a cute film about a 30-something man who refuses to move out of his parents' home. It’s funny, endearing, and the chemistry between the characters is great. Enjoy!
  • Thank You for Smoking – A tongue-in-cheek, very funny mock-documentary about a lobbyist for the cigarette industry. Get your popcorn, soda … and laugh your head off.
