1. HUMOR U TIP #176 – How’s That Workin' for You? |
By Ann Fry One of my favorite phrases is “How’s that workin’ for you?” I ask it of everyone, all the time. When folks are looking for solutions or are saying what they do, but not sounding too sure, I ask it. Try it! Now, with that said—what questions do you ask that are kind of fun? Learn to be original. Don’t ask the same old stuff as everyone else. That’s boring. The secret to having humor at work is to find funny ways to deal with stuff. Let’s try a couple more here. How about, “What, you said?” or “Are you for real?” or “Can’t you find anything else to laugh about?” or “What’s in it for you?” Get the gist—try being creative! Truth: People just want to work for GREAT companies and GREAT managers. They want workplace "cultures that work." Can you say... PROFIT? For Past Tips, visit: |
2. MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY AT WORK OPPORTUNITY |
Walk through the halls with a hat on, tip it when you pass someone, and say “Top of the day to you!” They’ll definitely smile (maybe because they think you’ve flipped your lid … but who cares?). Create a “fun” voice mail message – use your imagination – something other than “Hi, this is _____, please leave a message.” Be original. Get them to smile or laugh when they hear it. |
3. MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS |
Because humor, laughter and FUN are our game, we LOVE movies as a source for those feelings. So, whenever we see a movie that we think is really fun or silly or otherwise worthy of recommendation, we"ll cover it here. Movies, by the way, are great "therapy" — a great way to get away from stress and the busy world.
