1. HUMOR U TIP #170 – Dealing with the "Oops!" |
By Ann Fry I don't know about you … but I often forget things. Like I forget to call someone, or email someone. Or, I forget to attach something to an email. Whatever. Would you believe that some people can't even acknowledge that they're forgetful? What's up with that? So, how do I handle forgetting? I say OOPS! … a lot! You will probably see "oops" in my email subject everyday. It's a simple comment, says it all and furthermore shows you're someone who takes responsibility. So, start "oopsing" on yourself. It's liberating. Say it now, "oops" Now say it again … "oops". It gets easier by the minute. Let's hear the ringing sound of "oops" all throughout our offices. It's our new mantra – and most importantly, a fun way to acknowledge the obvious. Happy Oopsing!!! Truth: People just want to work for GREAT companies and GREAT managers. If you make them laugh and keep them happy, they'll "blow the lid" off their productivity and produce breakthrough results! Can you say... PROFIT? For Past Tips, visit: |
2. HAPPY WORK THOUGHTS |
Think of someone that you know at work … and that you admire. Now, do a little research and find out something that they love doing in their spare time (e.g. golf, needlepoint) Once known, then buy a little something and anonymously leave it on their desk. You can attach a note that says, "from someone who appreciates you" … or "from your secret fun fairy". Hide and watch them smile when they find it. You'll smile tool |
3. MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS |
Since humor, laughter and FUN are our game, we LOVE movies as a source for those feelings. So, whenever we see a movie that we think is really fun or silly or otherwise worthy of recommendation, we'll cover it here. Movies, by the way, are great "therapy" – a great way to get away from stress and the busy world. Garden State: This is an extremely well-done flick about 20-somethings. It's sweet, funny ( a little rowdy and risqué) and shows love and sensitivity as well. I loved it. |
